CHARSADDA:

Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, his son-in-law and former senator Adnan Khan were accused of spending government funds to boost the latter’s political career.

Tangi tehsil councillor Manzoor Bashir Khan made these accusations on Friday at a press conference.

Manzoor said Khattak and his son-in-law used Rs50 million from the provincial treasury—bypassing all rules—to fund their political campaign.

According to Manzoor, “The former senator is spending money via his unregistered local socio-political organisation known as Tangi Olasi Ittehad.”

The councillor suggested the provincial government instead use these funds for development projects such as basic health facilities in the tehsil hospital, education facilities or infrastructure development.

He appealed to the Ehtesab Commission to investigate and take action against the misappropriation of provincial funds.
