ISLAMABAD: With a deep sense of torment I draw attention to the cartoon recently carried in The Express Tribune, referring to the most revered Air Marshal Asghar Khan. The cartoon expresses total lack of respect for a man whose sterling character has been a beacon of integrity, absolute truthfulness and courage, which motivated many like me who have served in the PAF, to risk our lives for this country.
I have been honoured by historians all over the world, including Indian historians and intellectuals. I am just a humble product of the PAF which became one of the best air forces of the world under Air Marshal Asghar Khan’s stewardship and superb leadership. This nation can hang its glories on these two pegs — The Quaid, and after that at the next level, Air Marshal Asghar Khan for incomparable integrity, honesty and intrepidness. The aging Air Marshal has been unwell for the last few days and the entire air force prays for his health. We are hoping that good sense will prevail and your newspaper will correct its conduct.
