Swat ATC sentences three militants to life imprisonment

PESHAWAR: An anti-terrorism court in Swat announced on Tuesday 58-year collective rigorous imprisonments to three militants.

The militants, two Afghan nationals and one local, were arrested in 2014 with a huge quantity of explosive materials and arms.

As per details, the anti-terrorism court headed by Judge Mohammad Amin gave the verdict on completion of detailed hearing about the cases against Waheedullah, Hassan Khan and Mohammad Karim.

The prosecution revealed that the militants were arrested while attempting terrorist activities in Swat. Malakand’s Deputy Inspector General Police Azad Khan expressed satisfaction over the court judgment.

Earlier in April, an anti-terrorism court in Saidu Sharif sentenced ten persons to 25-year imprisonment in the Malala Yousafzai case. According to the ATC in Mingora, Judge Mohammad Amin Kondi of sentenced all the accused involved in the attack on Malala Yousafzai in 2012. In September last year, militants behind the attack on Malala and two other school girls were arrested and identified.
