A group of local youth volunteers and various cycling associations marked the International Women’s Day with an all girls cycling ride in the capital.
Cyclists included women from all walks of life, including students, professionals, housewives as well as professional cyclists. They gathered at the Sports Complex, Islamabad early morning and began their ride.
Speaking during the activity, Shaista Mehmood, a senior citizen who cycled along with her grandchildren, said “I have been coming here since the last three years and it is heartening to see that young girls are keen to take up this healthy activity”.
